Sixth Form Privilege Pass

Universities and employers are searching for young people who not only have academic qualifications but possess the skills needed to be successful in places of work.

Sixth Form students work through the Sixth Form Personal Development Programme which helps them to develop useful skills and as they move through the programme, they receive additional privileges.

Bronze level of development

Working towards mastering employability skills

At risk of or on a support plan (below 92% attendance or an average of 3+ conduct concerns per week or an average of 1+ late to school mark per week)

3 compulsory study sessions per week

Silver level of development

Can provide strong examples of successfully demonstrating at least 5 skills and has completed voluntary work.

Attendance above 92%
An average of less than 3 conduct concerns per week
An average of less than 1 late mark per week

2 compulsory study sessions per week

Privilege - permission to leave after your last timetabled lesson each day.

Gold level of development

Can provide strong examples of successfully demonstrating at least 10 skills, has completed voluntary work and secured/completed a work experience placement.

Attendance above 95%
An average of less than 1 conduct concern per week
An average of less than 1 late mark per week

Privilege - Permission to leave school at any time during non-contact hours.

Students need to provide strong examples of when they have demonstrated the following skills:

  • Teamwork
  • Resilience (staying positive)
  • Aiming high and challenging yourself
  • Listening and processing
  • Presenting
  • Literacy
  • Numeracy
  • Independence
  • Communication
  • Problem solving
  • Recurrent volunteering
  • Secured/completed work experience placement

Students at risk of not meeting their academic potential will be placed on a support plan to guide them back on track and help them address any areas that require improvement, for example Attendance, Punctuality or Behaviour Points.
