Student Leadership
Students will gain leadership experience.
We expect all students to take advantage of opportunities to develop their leadership skills whilst in the sixth form. The wide range of activities are as follows:
• Community work
• In-class support or mentoring for younger students at AGS or in primary schools
• Becoming a qualified reading mentor
• Being a sports leader
There is also an opportunity to become a member of the sixth form committee (see separate page). This is made up of Year 12 and 13 students. They are always on hand to ensure everyone participates in sixth form decision-making and are consulted with on student matters.
Committee members also offer peer support in both academic and pastoral matters as well as providing pathways advice to younger students.
