English Teachers dress up for World Book Day

Not to be put off by the snow, the English department celebrated World Book Day 2018 on Monday 5 March, when school reopened. Some of the staff dressed up and chose to impersonate characters from well- known children’s books, such as Alice in Wonderland and James and the Giant peach, whilst others chose important roles from books that the students study as part of the curriculum, including Holes and Macbeth.

As you can see from the photograph, everyone put a lot of effort into their costumes to mark the occasion. Not only is it a bit of fun, but the event is sure to inspire our students to become more interested in reading and literature.
