Reading Mentors

We have been delighted that 46 of our sixth form students have volunteered to give up at least one hour a week to help a Key Stage 3 student to make progress with their reading. The reading mentors have spent each half-term reading one-to-one with their mentee. This has been extremely successful with students improving their levels and confidence with reading as a result.

12/2/17 Our Reading mentors have been extremely successful during the Autumn term. Their support with our Yr 7 students has meant that those students who were supported who have a low reading age made 5.7 months progress with their reading. Those with a mid-reading age made 7.1 months progress. Well done to them all.
