WJEC Eduqas GCSE (9-1) in DRAMA

All components of study, performances and written work completed in Year 11 count towards their final assessment grade (9-1). In class, students will be fully prepared both for the practical and written element of each component. Component 2: Performing from a text (Practical exam)

Students choose a script to study and perform for an external examiner (20%)

Component 3: Interpreting Theatre (Written exam)

Students study the set text Hard to Swallow by Mark Wheeler’ and learn how to respond to live theatre seen during the course in preparation for the final written exam (40%)

The Drama Department provides opportunities for Year 11 students to be involved outside of class, including taking part in the senior show directed by Leeds University students, attending specialist skills workshops, going on theatre trips, becoming a Drama Ambassador and auditioning to be in school shows.
