Year 7 Students Settle In
We are into the fourth week of term and our New Year 7 students are settling into life at Allerton Grange extremely well. Friendship groups have formed as they rejoined students they met on the transition days in the summer and have got to know their form groups.
Students are attending lessons and getting to know their teachers and classmates as they make use of our facilities for the first time. Assessments have been taking place to put students into ability sets in some subjects.
Staff have been on hand to welcome new students into school at the start of the day as well as being on duty during break and lunch times. Navigating around the school has become easier, but there’s always someone on hand to ask for directions. Year 7 have had extended lunches since starting with us, reducing by 5 minutes each day, to help them get used to the final 30 minutes they will usually have.
The whole Year group were treated to the Fun into Food roadshow on Monday 24 September, which they all thoroughly enjoyed.
Some students have even offered to help in different departments at Open Evening on Wednesday 26 September, proving they feel comfortable in their surroundings and are already valued members of the AGS community!
