Year 12 Musicians visit Leeds Beckett
This week Year 12 Music students visited the Music Department at Leeds Beckett University.
The students had a tour around the music floors, showcasing sound engineering rooms, recording studio rooms and practice spaces, followed by two workshops which covered immersive sound engineering and recording and video game music.
To end the day, students were lucky enough to have an inspirational talk by the record producer Ken Scott who is also a Visiting Professor at Leeds Beckett. Ken spoke about his career, from working with The Beatles at Abbey Road Studios to recording with David Bowie and Elton John. All of which he formed great friendships with and had plenty of stories to tell. Ken’s main message was to find a passion inside of you that will make you happy throughout your life. Ken started at Abbey Road Studios at the age of 16 as a sound engineer.
