The Power of Muzik
February began with a flourish at Allerton Grange, with a visit from the Power of Muzik on Friday 1 February.
Year 9 were the first group to see the Power of Muzik in action. Asher Knight and Luena Martinez gave amazing vocal performances and talked to Year 9 about their lives growing up, the impact of bullying and things they can do to STOP, SPEAK, SUPPORT each other. Asher also told them his mum went to Allerton Grange School!
Year 8 were the second group in the hall to watch the performances and hear the inspirational messages. Year 7 gave the loudest Allerton Grange School welcome in the third session of the day.
Asher and Luena took part in a break time jam session with some Year 7 and 8 musicians practising in the music room! They also took time to talk to students and take photos with them after their sessions.
In the afternoon, they conducted two workshops with music students before rushing off to sound check at Leeds First Direct Arena as they were supporting Boyzone on their tour.
Some of our Year 9 students were interviewed by ITV and appeared on Calendar. Well done to Charlie B, Iman M and Joshua B, you spoke so well, representing Allerton Grange.
