Primary Maths Challenge
On Thursday 28 June, eight primary schools, including Talbot, Shadwell, Gledhow, Wigton Moor, Chapel Allerton, Hovingham, Highfield and Moortown, took part in the Year 5 Primary Maths Challenge. All the primary school students tackled some really tough challenges with great energy, enthusiasm and determination. The challenges included a logic round, group challenge round, make a number round, and the fast-paced relay round, to finish off. The students even got their own private tour of our school and its facilities. Well done to Gledhow Primary School for winning the competition for the first time, thanks to a phenomenal final round, which saw them win by two points over second placed Talbot.
Mr Roper, Headteacher, said "These kinds of events are an opportunity for us to invite primary students into our school to familiarise themselves with the staff and surroundings whilst having fun and learning. Many thanks to Mr Sumroy, Mrs Courtnage and our Year 7 helpers who helped things run smoothly."
