Premier League Girls’ Festival
A group of Year 9 girls attended the Premier League Girls’ Festival at Leeds Beckett University, on Thursday 24 May. The festival was delivered by the Leeds United Foundation and was attended by 18 schools from across Leeds.
The day provided an opportunity for the students to train and compete competing in six activities: boxing, American football, netball, basketball, football and badminton. Head coach from Leeds Force, Danny Nelson, delivered the basketball session.
The students all agreed the event “was amazing”. The trip leader and teacher of PE, Miss Radford said, “Not only did the students have a fantastic time playing a range of sports, they were impressed to see the facilities on offer Leeds Beckett. It makes such a difference in raising their aspirations when they get to experience first-hand what studying at university is like.”
