Music Performance Lockdown Challenge Winners!
Allerton Grange students were given the opportunity to take part in a Music Performance Lockdown Challenge.
The Music Team is so proud of all of their performance submissions and the effort the students had gone to to take part. Students were asked to submit a recording on any instrument, in any style and with or without a backing track. Prizes have been awarded for entries for different genres and the sub-genres within.
Winners are:
Category 1: Popular music - Rock, Pop, Hip Hop and Rap, Soul etc.

Category 4: Jazz (on different instruments/improvisation)
Archie – Jazz Desafinado by Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd (Category sub-genre: Jazz Drums WINNER)
Rowan – Mammoth mix of Jazz including Improvisation including "Too Blue to be True" by James Rae and "Minnie the Moocher" by Cab Calloway. (Category sub-genre: Jazz Saxophone WINNER)
Wallace - il vento d’oro (Category sub-genre: Piano Jazz version of a film theme WINNER)
Category 5: Folk
Freya - The Hanging Tree by James Newton Howard (Category sub-genre: Singing Folk WINNER)
Category 6: Composition
Harry - Nothing to Lose (Nothing to Do) – (Composition category - played all parts - WINNER)
Each person will receive a certificate and a £10 voucher as a prize. The students have done such a great job and shown confident musicianship skills, creativity, determination and hard work. The Music Department is very proud of their achievements, well done everyone!
