Languages at AGS buck the national trend
At Allerton Grange School we're proud of our students' success studying languages, with results for 2018 in the top 10% of schools in the country.
Currently, in Year 11, 77% of students are studying a modern foreign language. Students with an interest in languages also have the opportunity to join Latin Club.
At A level, students can choose to study French, German and Spanish. This has led to a number continuing to study one or more languages at university. Classical Civilisation A level is also offered and is a complementary course to study alongside a modern foreign language.
Language and communication skills are valued in many careers, providing opportunities to travel and work for international companies.
Mr Donlon, Assistant Headteacher and Teacher of French said, "We are proud that AGS is bucking the national trend, with 77% of our students taking a foreign language GCSE this year and our results consistently being in the top 10% of schools in the country."
