Former Barlcays CEO visits AGS
On Monday 23 April, Allerton Grange School was delighted to welcome former Chief Executive of UK Business at Barclays PLC, Peter Harvey.
Peter gave an insightful and motivating talk to Year 12 about hard work and success. He shared the challenges he has faced and overcome and the rewards he experienced that kept him moving forward. This was followed by a question and answer session where the group were able to learn more about how they could apply Peter’s experiences to their own plans for the future. In the afternoon, Peter worked with a small group of Year 10 boys with a focus on aspiration and working towards goals.
Peter has kindly offered to visit us again in a few months’ time to see how the boys are getting on and if they have been able to apply any of the things they discussed to their own lives and goals for their future, in education and beyond.
Mr Roper, Headteacher at Allerton Grange, said, “We’re grateful to Peter for giving up his time to deliver talks to our students today. We have a real focus on raising the aspirations of our students, and hearing from a former CEO of a major bank about how he progressed through his career certainly goes a long way to inspire our students to aim high.”
