Eurofest Triumph
Languages are a real strength at Allerton Grange, so the Eurofest Competition at the University of Leeds provides an excellent opportunity to test our skills against tough competition from other schools in the West Yorkshire area.
Ms Walker and Ms Hamilton took a group of 12 Year 8 students to the university. They were tasked with setting up a tourist information stand to promote a city and then to answer questions about it in their chosen language. Four students promoted Paris in French, four did Valencia in Spanish and the remaining group of four discussed Berlin in German.
We are delighted to announce that the German team won the 'best use of German' award, the French team won the 'best use of French' award and the Spanish team won the 'best tourist stand' award.
The German team will progress to the regional final on 11 July at Selby College. We wish them the very best of luck.
