Emmerdale Studio Experience

At the end of September, our Drama Ambassadors visited 'The Emmerdale Studio Experience' near Leeds city centre.

The visit included learning about the history of the popular soap opera and a guided tour of the studio itself. During the tour students found out about the production of the show from page to screen and the construction of the Emmerdale village on the Harewood estate. They got to see what goes on behind the scenes in the costume and make-up department and even how special effects are used. Highlights from the trip included the students making their own videos on set, setting the lighting states for a specific scene and editing some footage from the TV show.

High numbers of applications were received from students wishing to become Drama Ambassadors this year. The Drama team had some very difficult decision to make and thank everyone for their interest. The following students have been successfully appointed into the role until September 2018:

Year 7 - Lewis, Thamika and Frankie

Year 8 - Emma, Jessica and Chanelle

Year 9 - Kieran

Year 10 - Jasmine, Olivia, Ahmed and Adam

Year 12 - Niall and Kiera
