Community Award Winner
Miss Greaves, our Art and Textiles Technician, was recognised for her voluntary work with community group Harehills in Bloom, as they won the "Environmental Project of the Year" award at the recent Compassionate City Awards.
We are very proud that some Allerton Grange students have contributed to Harehills in Bloom winning the award. Some of our students volunteer in their own time and are part of the Leeds Street Team which has supported the action days that the Harehills in Bloom group organised throughout 2019.
Earlier in the year, Miss Greaves volunteered alongside some of our students and said: “I was impressed how many supported us to the very end. Adam the group leader of Leeds Street Team said several of them are really keep to get involved with more of the community planting events. The young people were so polite and a credit to themselves, their families and our school. They helped us leave Harehills cleaner and greener for everyone to enjoy. I was so proud.”
Well done to all involved!
