Camps International Tanzania 2018
A group of students took part in an expedition with Camps International over the summer holidays, visiting the African country of Tanzania. The students had spent two years fundraising to finance their place on the trip, which centred on providing support to various humanitarian projects across the country.
Joining another group from a school in Nottingham, bonds were quickly formed as the team travelled, lived and worked together on projects including building and maintenance work at Mnazi Primary School in Moshi and finishing an additional classroom at Migungani Nursery in Manyara.
Miss Hartley, who accompanied the students, said “I couldn’t believe how hard the students worked and the sheer effort they all put into the project work. Part of the expedition is about coping with adversities, new surroundings, different cultures and foods, the students rose to every challenge and I couldn’t be prouder of them”
CAMPS International Borneo 2020
As a school, we are very excited to announce that we have chosen, once again, to partner with Camps International to offer students in Years 10, 11 and 12 the opportunity to go on a life-changing 4-week expedition to Borneo, during the summer of 2020. There will also be an information evening for parents on Wednesday 19 September 2018, at 6.30pm in the school hall.
An expedition to Borneo will be an amazing opportunity for students to step outside their comfort zone and experience another culture. Whilst away, students will live alongside rural communities and work on projects which include helping to build classrooms or community centres and combating deforestation and protecting wildlife. Students will also have the chance to undertake an adventure element, which will be an accredited PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) Scuba Diving course.
