Book Fair
Our annual Book Fair took place at the start of December. It was run by Mrs Lobo in a special, cosy corner of the library. The pop-up book shop was visited by students, from across the school, looking to bag themselves a gripping new read.
Books by David Walliams were extremely popular; his latest story, ‘Bad Dad’, was snapped up by faithful fans of his work. Other top sellers were ‘Everything, Everything’, by Nicola Yoon, and ‘Wonder’, by Stephen Chbosky. Both have been made into films and are currently showing in cinemas.
However, it wasn’t just the new books being shown an interest. Some classics, which have been revived with newly illustrated covers, were also coveted. Pascal in Year 7 bought a copy of the well-known ‘1984’, by George Orwell.
Over £400 was taken in book sales. The library has been able to purchase some new books with money back from Scholastic Books for running the fair.
Mrs Lobo and Mrs Sutton have extended their thanks to all students and staff who supported the event.
