AGS Has Oodles of Talent
Our annual show, AGS’s Got Talent, took place on Wednesday 2 May. Many members of staff were in attendance to show their support for our wonderful students, along with the contestants’ friends and family.
Mrs Green, Year 7 Progress and Welfare Manager, writes: “There was such a buzz around school regarding the AGS talent show that I just had to go and see what the fuss was about. The line-up was such a variety of different acts that the audience was kept captivated and excited to see more. There were so many shining stars and everyone gave it everything they had.
“From the charismatic stage presence of Lewis Stirling, to the haunting voices of Chrissie Dyer and Frida Jones and the sophisticated sounding Ana Costa, the judges had an impossible decision. Freddie Fozzard wowed the audience with his magic while Marni Peverill, Kamila Sendriute and Taylor Hill turned everyone silent with amazement during their dance/singing combo.
“The ultimate winner, Amber Daley, was truly mesmerising, singing her own material whilst playing the piano; her voice was beautiful and her words so meaningful. On a personal level, I did shed a tear for the one and only Kieanna Rey Clarke, seeing how she attacked her performance, after entering the stage so nervously, was a pleasure to witness. I can't wait for next year’s show, and look forward to who is going to be the next Allerton Grange Super Star! Congratulations to all the winners, but to me you were all winners!”
1st place – Amber Daley, Year 11, piano and vocals soloist
2nd place – Morven Anthoney, Holly Crocombe and Simmy Roda, Year 7, dancing
